The NCCER digital newsroom, Breaking Ground, is the official digital publication of NCCER and focuses on workforce development, training and innovation within the construction industry. As the combination of the Cornerstone magazine, NCCER blog and press releases, Breaking Ground launched on NCCER’s website.
NCCER sponsored the SkillsUSA national carpentry competition for the tenth consecutive year and the national masonry competition for the seventh consecutive year. More than 6,400 outstanding career and technical education students competed in 103 different craft, technical and leadership fields at the 2019 SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Louisville, Kentucky.
Special congratulations to Ashton White as the first woman to take home the gold in masonry two years in a row.
